There are 2 types of Microsoft subscription to benefit from Teams:
- Microsoft 365 Business for companies (SMB) with less than 300 users
- Microsoft 365 Enterprises for companies with more than 300 employees
Depending on your subscription, which licenses should you choose to migrate your business phone on Teams ?
The Microsoft 365 Business license for companies with less than 300 users:
- Microsoft 365 Basic
- Microsoft 365 Standard
- Microsoft 365 Premium)
All of these subscriptions are compatible with Teams telephony and require the Business Voice license . This license allows you to benefit from Teams telephony (Phone System) and to call your contacts on their landlines or mobile phones. The Business Voice add-on also includes Audio conferencing allowing you to have a phone number associated with your Teams meetings. This function is interesting for your partners and customers who do not have Teams.
The Microsoft 365 Enterprise license for companies with more than 300 employees:
- Office 365 E1
- Office 365 E3
- Office 365 E5
- Microsoft 365 E3
- Microsoft 365 E5
All of these subscriptions are compatible with Microsoft Teams telephony. Office 365 E5 and Microsoft 365 E5 subscriptions include the Phone System and Audio-conferencing add-ons which allow you to switch to telephony at no additional cost.
Office 365 E1, Office 365 E3 and Microsoft 365 E3 subscriptions require at least the Phone System add-on to use telephony on Teams.
If you are already a user of the Microsoft suite, the good news is that Teams-Phone automatically includes this license and adapts to your existing subscription.
If you do not yet have a subscription to the Microsoft suite, our teams will be able to assist you in making the right choice for your needs.
